What other drivetrains work well on the Carrizo Select?
- Any SRAM AXS (Wireless) drivetrain works great. If using a 1x drivetrain be sure to spec a WIDE version of the crankset you intend to use. If you opt for a 2x drivetrain your largest chainring combination should not exceed 46/33t (See Frameset Technical Specifications).
- Any Shimano Di2 12spd Drivetrain will fit up nicely. The frame features a port for the front derailleur E-Tube wire and the driveside dropout breather hole is large enough for the rear E-Tube wire to pass through. If you opt for a 2x set-up your largest chainring combination should not exceed 50/34t (See Frameset Technical Specifications).
Mechanical Drivetrains that we know work well:
- Any Mechanical 1x drivetrain will work. Be aware that the minimum chainline can be no less than 47.5mm.
- Mechanical 2x drivetrains need to have a front derailleur that has a built-in cable stop. Newer Shimano front derailleurs (FD-R7000/R8000/R9100 or newer) will work. Microshift Sword front derailleurs are also compatible.
I am thinking of running mechanical disc brakes, do they all work?
- The Carrizo Select is optimized for flat mount hydraulic brakes (See Frameset Technical Specifications). While there are many cable actuated flat mount disc brakes that will work well (TRP Spyre, Growtac Equal), there are some that do not work well due to how the cables need to route (Paul Klampers).
Can you tell me more about the differences of the two colorways?
- Both colors are a powder coat. We chose to powder coat these frames due to its durability. The forks are full carbon and are painted to match the powder coat color on the frame.
MINT - The Mint color way has a semi-gloss finish to it. Smooth to the touch and it shines in the sun.
DESERT - Desert comes with a Satin finish and is slightly textured. Rough and rugged looking, just like the actual Carrizo Plain National Monument.
Can you help me understand chainline for the Carrizo Select?
The Carrizo Select can be run with a 1x crankset or a 2x set-up.
The minimum chainline to ensure proper fitment of a 1x chainring is 47.5mm. That means that the center of the chainring teeth sit 47.5mm outboard from the centerline of the frame. The max chainring that will fit with a 47.5mm chainline is a 44t. Other set-ups might work, but we cannot ensure fitment if your set-up is anything other than the stated 47.5mm 1x chainline.
To check your 1x chainline you can measure the distance from your chainring teeth to the closest point on the seat tube. Take that measurement and add 14.5mm (29mm thickness of the Carrizo seat tube divided in half).
The minimum chainline to ensure proper fitment of a 2x set-up is 44.5mm. The chainline on a 2x chainring set-up is measured from the center of the distance between the two chainrings. The max chainring combination that will fit with a 44.5mm chainline is a 50/34t. Other set-ups might work, but we cannot ensure fitment if your set-up is anything other than the stated 44.5mm 2x chainline or if you run larger than 50/34t chainrings.
To check your 2x chainline you can measure the distance from your outer chainring teeth to the closest point on the seat tube. Repeat that for the inner chainring. Subtract the inner ring distance from the outer ring distance and divide that number by half. Add that value to the inner ring distance then add 14.5mm (29mm thickness of the Carrizo seat tube divided in half).

Ample tire size for any terrain. Fast on the road and smooth on the dirt.
Designed from the ground up. We were tired of using off the shelf components to build our frames. We invested in designing and sourcing our own parts to build a better product.
We made sure to use long standing industry standards when designing the Select Series. Nothing proprietary to hold you back when it comes time for maintenance.
The Carrizo Select frameset is extremely versatile. It supports both mechanical and wireless drivetrains, even the latest Full Mount derailleurs from SRAM. External routing makes it easy to dial in your fit and gives you the ability to quickly swap parts as you make it your own.
The Carrizo Select frame features a complete Columbus Zona steel tube set.
